From the moment I landed in Grenada, I felt like royalty. I was swept into VIP treatment at the airport and whisked away in a Bentley after a breezy passport check, thanks to the resort. No wonder the destination and its services are a favorite of the British royals! The warm welcome continued upon my arrival at Spice Island Beach Resort reception, where I was greeted by friendly staff and unobstructed Caribbean Sea views.
My suite was a dream: spacious, sunlit, and adorned with local treats, which your clients also will receive as the J.MAK amenity! But the real magic was just outside, with a private patio, hammock, and direct beach access. If your clients are in need of a little more privacy, there are a range of accommodations available, 64 in total, including the Royal Ginger suite - Prince Harry's go-to!
Beyond lounging in the sun, Grenada offered endless delights. Perfect for gingers like me! From rum tastings to historic forts, my half-day tour revealed the island's true culture and variety of landscapes. Highlights included Annandale Waterfall and the many trails of Grand Etang Forest Reserve, where I even spotted some mischievous Mona monkeys.
Back at the resort, Fabian, the whirlwindof-energy Activities Director who seems to be everywhere all the time, provided me with insights into even more adventures, such as exploring the underwater sculpture park – one of only two in the world!
Did you know that Spice Island Beach Resort is all-inclusive? You might think that means lackluster food and beverage options, but think again! The culinary team is passionate about providing fresh and local ingredients, with some vegetables and spices sourced from the onsite garden. The proof is in Oliver Restaurant, which offers a new menu for breakfast and dinner daily. Additionally, there is a casual option for lunch, all-day In Room Dining, plus a new beachfront spot coming soon.
For families, the Nutmeg Pod Activity Center keeps kids entertained while parents unwind. Also included in the stay are non-motorized water sports, tennis, golf, bicycle rentals, and access to the fitness center.
And when it's time to fully relax, Janissa Spa is the place to be. Trust me, nothing beats a massage in paradise.
In all, my stay at Spice Island Beach Resort felt like coming home. The attentive staff, led by the Hopkin family, ensured every moment was filled with warmth and relaxation. It's not just a resort—it's a family affair, and I'm already counting down the days 'til I can return!
